Did you know that Guardian Angels have their own Feast Day? It's a Catholic festival celebrated annually on the 2nd October.
Paul V, was the first Pope, in 1608, to authorise a feast day in honour of guardian angels. Pope Clement X changed the date to 2nd October and then Leo XIII, in 1883, upgraded the date to a double major feast!
Pope John XXIII wrote a lovely Meditation for the Feast of the Guardian Angels, which reads, in part:
"We must remember how admirable was the intention of divine Providence in entrusting to the angels the mission of watching over all mankind, and over individual human beings, lest they should fall victims to the grave dangers which they encounter "
