Angel Light - How Angels Can Light Your Path In Life

'Their garments are white, but with an unearthly whiteness.
These bright Angels are enveloped in a light so different from ours that by comparison everything else seems dark'
Father Theodore Lamy (1855-1931)

When we call on the angels for guidance we are in a way asking them to light our path for us. These beings have often been described as shining intensly; and traditionally, of course, their haloes of light are their best-known physical attribute after their wings. By seeking to match the angelic qualities inherent in that light, we strive to reflect some of the angel's radiant love into our all to often dark world.

Something of the intensity of angelic light has been glimpsed by those who claim to have experienced a Near Death Experience. One of the most common features of an NDE is the incredibly bright white light to which the person concerned is drawn, often along a tunnel. Our own light, even at its brightest, seems dim beside an angel's.

Light is not only vitalizing, however: it is also revealing.  When we see our imperfections clearly, they become intolerable to us, and prompt us to take healthy, cleansing action.

A MEDITATION OF ANGEL ENERGY

There is a deep serenity to be drawn from meditating on the flickering, steady flame of a candle. However, an equally effective meditation on the theme of angelic light can be performed inwardly, without any external aid as described below.

1. Sit comfortably in a quiet place, and close your eyes. Breathe slowly and deeply, so that your body begins to relex a little. Let the tensions fall away from each part of your body in turn, progressing downwards from your head, down your back, and along your limbs. Try to relax your mind in the same way.

2. Identify a mental focus, just in front of your eyes or forehead - wherever seems natural to you. Then imagine the light of an angel's energy beginning to radiate from this point, like a starbirth. Gradually, you imagine the radiance increasing in strength, without the central point of light, getting any bigger.

3. Picture the infinite energy that is pouring out from the angel's heart as a flow that enters your own heart, filling you with divine purpose and strength. After a few minutes of recharging your spiritual batteries, see the light fade gradually, its mission accomplished. Your meditation is complete.

How Angels Answer Your Prayers

All of your prayers are always answered. Sometimes you may not feel this way, because the answer comes in unexpected way. Perhaps you receive an intuitive feeling or a new opportunity appears - or a book falls from a shelf with the answer you are seeking on its pages. The angels answer our prayers so often by giving us ideas or information in these everyday ways.

Angels want us to be extra observant when we've asked for their help. Notice everything that you hear, say, think, and feel. Be especially alert to the help that comes to you, and be sure to accept that help. You do deserve this assistance, and many times God enlists people to act as Earth angels who bring you answers to your prayers.

Have you had ever had your prayers answered in the strangest of ways?

Angel Music

'And let the base of heaven's deep organ blow,
And with the ninefold harmony
Make up the full consort of the angelic symphony
John Milton (1608-74)

Angels have always been associated with beautiful music. The Greeks spoke of the music of the heavenly spheres, and angelic choirs and musicians have been shown in art for centuries. Fine music is a pleasure of the heart, even a kind of inward conversation with the divine. The "Gloria" , part of the Mass, conjures up the praise to God sung by angels who appeared to shepherds on the morning of Christ's nativity. Angels with particular musical associations are Israfel, Shamiel, and the Bene Ellim

Mood Music

* When seeking an angelic visitation, try using music to help you attune to an angel's wavelength. Listen to something quiet and thoughtful. Some people find a natural sound is best, such as recorded bird-song, or the slow deep music of whales.

Angel Haloes in Art

Blake said aloud, 'Aye! Who can paint an angel?' A Voice in the room said, 'Michelangelo could.'
Blake said, 'How do you know?' I sat for him said the Voice.'I am the Archangel Gabriel.'"
Allan Cunningham (1784-1842) Scottish poet

Angel haloes

The halo in art, like the wings, is another instantly recognizable feature of angels, denoting holiness. It's alternatively referred to as a niumbus or aureole. Intriguingly, haloes tend to divide into two seperate kinds. First, there are those that form an unchanging circular background to the head, which doesn't move even when the head is turned to a profile view: in other words, the halo is presented to the viewer rather than being an intrinsic part of the angel's anatomy. The problem faced by artists who took this approach was that haloed figures with their backs to the viewer appear to have their vision blocked by their own haloes- as in Giotto's  Last Supper, painted at the beginning of the 14th C. But in later paintings the halo is often attached to the back of the head as an angled disk, like a hat, and we see it differently (and usually in a na pproximate perspective) depending on which way the angel is looking.
There are variations too in the size and importance of the halo. It can be quite skimpy, like a wisp of light, hardly noticeable at all. Sometimes, though, it appears as a single or double transparent gold circlet either behind or above the head, owing it impact more the intensity of the gold than to any formal qualities. Or it can be absent altogether. In some paintings, howeer, the angelic halo seems almost solid like a gold medallion, and indeed it may have an emobossed appearance, perhaps with a coin-lie milled or studded edge.
A holy text may be shown within the halo, and the gold may match gold trimmings at the hem of the costume.
A halo may also consist of radiant spokes of light, like a wheel without an external rim

Distant Healing With Angel Energy

If you wish to send the healing power of angels to somebody else, first visualise the person (or people) concerned.  Then perhaps write their name on a card, or, if you can find a photograph of them,  hold this in your hand to help you focus the healing energy.
Then allow yourself to drift into a meditative state, and ask Archangel Raphael angel of healing to use you as a channel through which to send a flow of healing energy to the person in need.
Remain in the meditative state for as long as you feel is appropriate. Once you have finished thank Raphael for his help
