Injured Angels: Who helps the helpers?

Most of us are familiar with the idea that it is Angels who protect, guide and love humans. But what happens when an Angel is in trouble? Here, Angel Reach reader Heledd from Bangor (North Wales), shares her unusual story:

“One depressingly hot night last summer, I couldn’t sleep. Everything in my life felt like it had fallen apart. I’d split from my husband of 23 years a couple of months previously, and I had also recently been burgled, which had left me feeling vulnerable and wounded. I was so worried about someone breaking in again, I wouldn’t even leave the window open anymore, and the intense heat was suffocating me. I started to weep I was so miserable, my tear drops soaking the pillow.

Then something unusual happened. The room was filled by the most beautiful overpowering scent, like jasmine, which filtered into the room on a strong, cool breeze (even though all the windows and doors in the house were shut). The tears on my pillow instantly evaporated. I heard an unfamiliar voice exclaiming ‘don’t cry, don’t cry!’, and hushing me. I felt my spirits lift, and I began to fall into a deep, peaceful sleep, as if I were a child again. As I was falling asleep, I noticed a sprig of heather had appeared from nowhere, and was lying in my open hand. I wasn’t scared, because Angels had occasionally visited me before, and they knew I was personally comforted by flowers, as I had grown up playing in fields of them.

I was beginning to dream when I woke up with a sudden jolt, as there was a light dazzling me. I sat bolt upright in my bed, terrified someone was breaking in again. But what I saw instead was a light flickering urgently in the corner of my room, about half-way up the wall, and I could hear a kind of pained cry. I wondered what on earth to do, but then there was a second blast of light, and the crying stopped abruptly. I went to the corner where the light had been, and found some  unusual and exotic petals lying there,which looked like they had come from foreign flowers."

So what happened?

The staff at Angel Reach believe that the Angel may have been wounded in some way trying to help Heledd. Heledd says she didn’t recognise this particular Angel’s voice, suggesting it was a new Angel to her. It could have been a relatively inexperienced Angel, the equivalent of a teenager in our world. Whilst Angels do leave signs they have been there occasionally (such as feathers), they tend to already be carrying these from their travels around the universe. And they don't normally try to leave more than one thing, even if this Angel was trying to help out of concern. The Angel might have sensed Heledd was comforted by flowers, as they often gently probe our minds when we're upset, but it may then have dashed too quickly between different places on the earth, to find some exciting new flowers for her. It seemed to be overdoing the need to comfort her. It may have then got stuck in our world, explaining the flickering light, and the second blast of light was probably another Angel rescuing it (possibly one of  Heledd's usual Angels).

Denzel: 'I'm protected by my guardian angel'

Hollywood star Denzel Washington has revealed his spiritual side - by admitting he believes he is being guided by a guardian angel.
The Oscar-winning actor said he had an encounter with the celestial being when he was a youngster.
He said: "It looked like my sister but then I saw wings . But it was as real as any human being
"I walked over to the door and opened it so some light came in the room. Then it faded away."
He said he then asked his mother to explain what he had seen and she told him it was his guardian angel.
The 56-year-old star added: "Sometimes it's just about having faith in what I saw and some people must think that's crazy. But it has worked for me.
"Ever since that night I have always felt protected."

Does my pet have an angel to protect him or her?

Yes! If you pet is injured, sick, or in some other sort of need, there is help available from the heavens. Animals are loved and valued by the Creator, so they also have angels assigned to help them. These pet-protecting angels are typically sent by Archangel Ariel, the ‘lion of God’, with Muriel helping him. When they notice, or hear of an animal in trouble, they will send angels to help. They will often come themselves to help when they can.

Ariel and Muriel are heavily connected with nature, so they hear requests for help more clearly when requests are put through nature. Ariel commonly appears as a water sprite, and has a powerful connection with whales, sea turtles and dolphins. To summon him, say his name standing near running water. He will come to any animal’s aid.

Muriel’s name means ‘God’s perfume’. Her angelic responsibilities includes tending the animals and plants of earth, so she can be evoked by holding a bouquet of flowers, and saying her name. When she appears, you may smell the scent of flowers around your pet. If this happens, you know for definite she has come.

What are Angels?

Angels are made of pure spirit, not flesh and blood. They feel nothing but love and care for humans, and enjoy helping them. They will protect humans against dangers in the universe, like a parent or concerned lover or friend. There are millions of them in the universe. They can sometimes take on a human-like form, often so they can appear to us in a way our minds can comprehend. However, this is not their original form, as they don’t have a form. Nor do they die – they exist forever once they are created.

How do they spend their time?

A common question put to us at Angel Reach is what angels do when they are not going about their normal business of helping, comforting, worshipping, and guiding. Don’t they get bored, as they exist forever?

It’s not that simple. Angels don’t get bored because you need to be mortal to become ‘bored’. We become ‘bored’ because we have reached the limits of what we can usefully learn from a situation - angels don’t have limits on their understanding like we do. They are permanently experiencing new things they have never experienced before, and can also move through time – only beings which exist in ‘space’ experience time as linear. Mind-bending stuff!

When angels aren’t carrying out their normal business, they seem to spend their ‘time’ having insights, and studying humans. As humans are never-ending subjects, with lots of secrets yet to be discovered, and not finite objects, angels never get bored of them. Their great intellect means they are constantly finding out new things about humans, which they can then use to help them. Angels don’t need to sleep either, as they are spirits – there is no night and day to them. Night and day belongs to humans and animals.

How do Angels communicate with each other?

Angels don’t have senses, like you and I. They don’t hear or speak like us. They therefore use mental telepathy with each other. Whereas we work things out logically, step-by-step, from what another human is telling us, angels know everything other angels are trying to communicate straight away. So if you were listening to a story someone was telling you, you would hear it step by step, gradually unfolding. With angels, they would know it all in what would be a split second in human time - there is no need for them to gradually 'build' a story from what they are being told. Everything is sent straight to their minds.

How do Angels communicate with us?

Often, they work behind the scenes, to help us or leave us clues. When they do communicate with us, it’s usually by suggesting things to our imagination, and inspiring us. However, they would never seek to override our freewill – they can give us ideas and messages, but what we do with them is up to us.

Sometimes we just ‘know’ things, which is usually an angel communicating through mental telepathy. If we do hear an actual angel voice, it is normally because our minds are translating their messages into a form we can understand. Their ‘voices’ are our own mind’s translation system, not their real voices.

Where are angels?

Not in space. Space is for bodies, and angels don’t have bodies. They exist in a parallel dimension, though often cross over in some form to help us, or talk to us. They are around us all the time, but we can’t always see them. They can also come and go instantly – they don’t need to travel through space to get somewhere, like we would. They can be anywhere they want, at any point in time. They are often called to a human in need by other angels.

Is it possible to have more than one Guardian Angel?

Yes. All humans are assigned with at least one Guardian Angel, but sometimes other angels will take an interest in a human or a situation, and work with the Guardian Angel to help out. Sometimes, in times of deep need, hundreds of angels will congregate to help out. Angels aren’t jealous, but rather, just have unconditional, non-possessive love – they don’t mind humans being helped by other angels too

Angelic Presence on 9/11

Next month, is the anniversary of 9/11. September 11th 2001 was a tragic turning point in fate, with serious consequences for many nations afterwards. Angels exist to bring messages, protect humans, and to guide them. So upon such a fateful day, it is hardly surprising that many believe that angels came en masse to offer comfort and protection where they could. Thousands seemed to descend on the stricken sites to help, most notably at the site of the World Trade Center, which we look at here.

Angel Faces in the Smoke

The first obvious sign that angels were arriving came just after the first plane crashed into the World Trade Center. Several distinctive angels were seen breaking out of the smokes, such as the one on the left of this article.

The distress and urgency on this Angel’s face is clear to see. It is almost as if the angels were waking up with a jolt, calling each other, and dashing to save as many people as they could. Which leads us onto what happened next.

Angels and Mortals on 9/11

It is not unusual, when a community of mortals are in great danger, for angels to either enter mortals, or to give them angelic extra abilities.

Saviour Mortals

Most notable in the super-human rescue attempts was Rick Rescorla, the Morgan Stanley Security Chief. He single-handedly saved nearly 4,000 employees, but lost his own life doing so. He was supposed to be on holiday on 11th September 2001, but somehow fate brought him to the World Trade Center that day (angels?). After the first tower was hit by a plane, he knew instantly that the second tower would be hit, according to those who were with him at the time. He began to evacuate the staff despite the dangers, and disobeyed a general order (over the World Trade Center speakers) for staff to stay in their offices. He kept the staff’s spirits up, and calmed their nerves by singing songs on the way out.

In less than 15 minutes, before the second plane hit, he had somehow managed to evacuate nearly all of the Morgan Stanley employees. As a direct result of his actions, all but six of 3,700 employees survived. This was about quarter of all the people in the World Trade Center at the time. Rick was last seen going back to rescue other people from other companies, running up as high as the 72nd floor, despite being warned by another colleague that he had to get out. He was also in his early sixties, and suffering from cancer.

Could angels have passed on the message to him about what was going to happen? He was a man in the best place to save more people than anyone else could at that moment in time. The total 9/11 death toll would have been more than double if Rick Rescorla had not known to evacuate the staff. Did angels bless him with the superhuman strength he possessed that day, taking him up to the 72nd floor? Did angels keep the employees protected until they were out of the building, despite the difficulties in evacuating so many people so quickly, without permission or immediate help? It seems a team of guardian angels may have been working together to help Rick Rescorla.

Firemen and Other Emergency Personnel

Angels are the embodiment of pure love, and they are dedicated to serving the needs of mortals. They are completely selfless, whatever the cost to them, and will overcome obstacles to save mortals. Within literally minutes, the firemen from the New York City Fire Department were on the scene, despite the normal heavy New York traffic, and running into burning buildings.

411 emergency workers died at Ground Zero. However, during their efforts, they evacuated and rescued more than 5,000 other souls.

The Coastguards helped evacuate up to a million people from lower Manhatten, to get them away from the toxic smoke. This included 2,000 injured people. There were no injuries or major hiccups during this mass evacuation. This was despite the huge numbers involved, the chaos, and the limited transport. It was as if the angels were working to sort out the logistical problems, perhaps again whispering in the ears of the people in charge, telling them what direction to take. Many reported just ‘knowing’ what to do, despite this being such a new situation.
