Medical Sceptics Believe Guardian Angel Saved A Child From Certain Death.

Judith Shrimpton, a retired GP, tells this unusual tale of a child brought to an emergency room when she was training to be a doctor. The child had been in a very serious road accident involving a lorry - the child told doctors that an man in white had lifted the lorry wheels off her. Judith believes from the description given that the child had described an angel.

Judith writes:

"It was nearly 40 years ago and I was working as a third- year medical student in the casualty department of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington. I was an atheist, a typical student of the time, and working with me was another student (called) Jenny. Anyone less fanciful than Jenny is hard to imagine. She was a healthy hearty woman  and she too  had no religious beliefs whatsoever.

"A young child was rushed in on a stretcher. She was unconscious and accompanied by her very distressed parents, a police officer, and a bystander who had witnessed the accident. Lucy had run into the middle of the busy Edgware Rd and a lorry had hit her and then the wheels had gone right over her - not just once but twice - the rear wheels as well. The police officer who had been on duty had also witnessed it happen.

"Together with the doctor on duty, the three of us examined the unconscious child. Apart from one small bruise on her shoulder she was totally unmarked. We were about to send her off for X - rays, when she opened her eyes and smiled beautifully. 'Where is that's man in white?' she demanded.

"The doctor stepped forward. 'No - no,' said Lucy, 'the man in the long shiny dress' Puzzled we held her hands and stroked her face. 'The man did that', said Lucy, 'he stroked my face, as he picked up the wheels' - 'the wheels didn't touch me at all'' she added with another smile.

"Lucy then fell into a totally normal, deep sleep. A full medical examination revealed not a single injury, except for a small bruise. The following day, Lucy was discharged. The lorry driver swore that he had felt two bumps and had vomited in the road at the sight  of the unconscious Lucy. Lucy herself retained a child's quiet unconcern and certainty that 'the man in white had lifted the lorry.

"We medical sceptics could only wonder if there had indeed been Guardian Angel present that day to save Lucy from what would seem to be certain death."

Rock 'n' Roll Legend Lou Reed's Guardian Angel

Rock 'n' roll legend, Lou Reed  is famed  for his songs lyrics about the shadier side of life i.e. Heroin, I’m waiting for my man (a song about waiting for his drug dealer) & Walk on the Wild Side. Many of his songs are based on his own personal experiences of drug addiction and battling to free himself from it.
But Reed's experiences have also led him on an inner journey of self-discovery and he now embraces a more spiritual life. He says that he's given up the drugs, booze and cigarrettes, and for almost 30 years he’s practiced Tai Chi. He also mediates whenever he can – even if it’s only for a few minutes.
And his new found spiritual beliefs led to him to penning  a song in 2002 about a Guardian Angel. The song details how a guardian angel has protected him and even saved his life as he pursued  at times a self- destructive lifestyle

Picture: The Ghostly Angel of The Vatican

When retired policeman Andy Key went on a trip to Rome in 2007, he was struck by the beauty of sunlight streaming through a window in the Vatican.
As the Pope made an address nearby, he decided to capture the stunning image on his camera.
But it was only when Mr Key, 48, and his wife Susan, 44, returned home and and downloaded their photographs that they noticed a strange apparition in the picture.
They were amazed to see what looked like the image of a guardian angel above the heads of other visitors to St Peter's Basilica.
Mr Key, from March, in Cambridgeshire, said: "It looks like an angel hovering on the people's heads.
"No-one can explain it - there's nothing on their heads for the light to bounce off."
Mr Key went on the holiday to mark his retirement from his job as a police constable for Cambridgeshire Police.
He and his wife, a medical secretary, were looking around the famous church when they noticed a large group of people and realised the Pope was making an address nearby.
"I was taking pictures of all the things around us and saw this huge window with the light streaming through and thought it looked beautiful," he explained.
"I snapped the picture and didn't noticed anything until I got home.
"It looks almost like a hologram. I thought it was really spooky."
Professional photographers have studied Mr Key's photo and are at a loss to explain what may have caused the image.
It was only revealed when he got home, plugged his digital Kodak camera into his computer and downloaded the images.
Mr Key, who  works as a student mentor at the Neale-Wade Community College in March, said: "It wasn't as if we had visited Rome for any particularly religious reason. We were simply sight-seeing as you do.
"I had not really thought about angels and stuff before. I don't know if I believe in it all but it does look like an angel.
"Several people have looked at it including a professional photographer and they can't work out what it might be - maybe it is a guardian angel."
What do you think? Trick of light or a real angel?

It happened to me: My guardian angel saved my life - True Life Angel Story

Donna Ferguson
Eleven years ago Donna Ferguson from Craigavon, in Northern Ireland,  gave birth to her fourth child, a girl called Jessica. The birth went well but afterwards she was feeling very tired, more tired than she felt she should be, as well as faint. When the nurses came to see her in the evening they told her that they would take Jessica to the nursery for the night so that she could have a good night’s rest, they thought she was looking a little 'peaky' and would maybe need some iron tablets.
Donna says she then  drifted into a deep sleep until around 2am, when she began hearing a voice.
She said: "The voice kept saying softly 'Wake up, wake up!'. I didn't want to and tried desperately to ignore it, telling myself, 'I can't wake up, I'm so tired. I need to sleep.
“But the voice – which remained at the same pitch and tone – was persistent, determined to shake me out of unconsciousness. It never got angry, remaining calm as it repeatedly told me to wake up.
“This time, though, it also told me to press the alarm. I didn't even know there was an alarm. Still I couldn't open my eyes, but managed to find enough strength to lift my arm. Feeling a wire hanging next to me, I pressed the button. Fortunately, it was the alarm, which alerted the nurses.
“Next thing I remember was the light being switched on as a nurse rushed into my room. I was lying in a pool of blood and soon there were three nurses and a doctor crowded around my bed. There was a commotion as they tried desperately to keep me awake. I remember telling one of the nurses that I'd been woken by someone."
She was then rushed to theatre. Donna had haemorrhaged and lost a lot of blood  as a large part of the placenta had remained in her uterus after the birth. The next day when the doctor came to see her, he told her she was very lucky and that if she hadn't raised the alarm she almost certainly would have died.
She had to be given a blood transfusion after the operation and she feels now that it had to be her guardian angel that woke her, as due to her extreme tiredness she would never have been able to wake on her own.
Donna said: “ I didn't know how close I was to death until the doctor saw me the following morning.
“He said I'd been very lucky, admitting that he'd never seen anyone looking so grey and unwell who was still alive. I told the doctor that someone had woken me, although I couldn't tell if it was a woman's or a man's voice, and he said it must have been my guardian angel, because if I'd lost much more blood, I wouldn't have survived.
“Lying in my hospital bed, reflecting on the ordeal, it suddenly hit me that being so close to death, the voice must have been sent for a reason. I wasn't meant to die that night. As the doctor had suggested, it must have been my guardian angel.”

Make Your Own Angel Cards

There are lots of beautifully illustrated angel cards to chose from these days but why not make your own - they can  work just as well in offering you a little angelic guidance.

What to do
You can make your own cards from greeting cards. Use a playing card as a template to draw round. Or buy plain business cards and decorate them with angelic images. You'll need about 40-50 cards.

Plain cards can be illustrated with drawings, an angel stamping kit, stickers, angel confitti or angel-decorated wrapping paper.

Create a list of positive or helpful words or phrases and add one to the plain side of each of the cards. Here a few words to get you stared: Love, Support, Pets, Health, Manifest, Magic, Crystals.

Store your cards in drawstring bag, and whenever you need a little inspiration, close your eyes and ask the angels for guidance and then select three or four of your angel cards. Use your intuition to interpret the message your chosen cards are sending. You'll get a different thought or feeling even if you draw the same card every day. 'Love' for example, may make you think of loving yourself (taking more care of your own needs) On another occasion, the same card may cause you to think of a particular friend and realise you need to contact that person to tell them how much they mean to you. Remember, these are your cards and there's no wrong or right way to use them , so keep practising.

Angels are the new vampires, says best-selling author Anne Rice

Tom Cruise Interview with the Vampire

Angels are the new vampires of the literary world, according to the doyenne of vampire fiction  Anne Rice, who in 2009 launched a new series of books starring a contract killer recruited by a seraph.

Taking their inspiration, perhaps, from Milton's arch-fiend Satan, Rice and a host of other authors have plotted celestial assaults on the book buying public, with angels in all shapes hitting the bookshelves. The line-up includes Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush, Hush ("a sacred oath, a fallen angel, a forbidden love"), Elizabeth Chandler's Kissed by an Angel (about a guardian angel) and the Carnegie medal-winning American writer Sharon Creech's The Unfinished Angel, featuring a celestial being who is undergoing an identity crisis.

"Being on the side of the angels, it feels much better than being on the side of the vampires. Vampires were tortured, tragic figures," Rice said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal  Her novel, Angel Time: The Songs of the Seraphim, follows the adventures of Toby O'Dare, an American killer who is given the chance by a mysterious stranger (who turns out to be an angel) to go back to 13th century England to find salvation
"Vampires for me were always like feeling grief for my lost childhood faith, being cut off from that life. I reached the point where I didn't have any more stories to tell from that point of view," explained the author, who said the angel series was "In keeping with [her] commitment to do Christian fiction in a variety of forms" since she converted from atheism back to her childhood Catholicism in 1998.

Pint-Sized Pop Star Prince Believes in Angels

Pint-sized Pop Star Prince has revealed he holds a strong belief in angels and says his belief has brought an ''incredible peace'' to his life.

The 'Purple Rain' singer has been a devout Jehovah's Witness -  since 2001 and his faith means that he accepts that angels exist and are there to help humanity.

When quizzed about his faith in an interview last year with the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: "There are good angels but also bad angels."

Prince - whose conversion to Jehovah's Witnesses was his mother Mattie Shaw's dying wish - goes out door-to-door to spread the word about his faith and try and get others to convert.

Although most people are surprised to have a pop superstar call at their house to talk about God, Prince insists most individuals are "cool" with him.

He explained: "Sometime people act surprised when I'm at their house, but mostly they're cool about it."

Admitting he sometimes disguises himself, he added: "My hair is capable of doing a lot of different things. I don't always look like Prince."

The 52-year-old music legend - who was famed for his sexually explicit lyrics, outrageous stage outfits and womanizing ways at the height of his career in the 80s and early 90s - insists his religious beliefs have brought a balance to his life that he didn't have before.
